Has Landlord Applied for,or Obtained an HMO License

How do I obtain information that will confirm/deney that my landlord has obtained an HMO Licence for the dwelling that I reside in. I have read on another site that the landlord must post notice on the property giving 21 days notice that he is applying for a licence,is this correct?
