Legal expenses insurance

£25,000 LEGAL EXPENSES

I've been quoted by a landlordzone sponsor £29.00 (normally £52.25) for £25,000 of cover (requires Building insurance to be taken out with the same company). This seem like a very good deal indeed.

Am I missing something?

Again this seems very cheap Homelet were about £350.

Read the small print carefully they can have a lot of clauses where the insurance would be void leaving you in the dirt.

Sounds suspect that it would be that cheap for such a high amount of cover

Just to be slightly more specific the company concerned is JBI International.

Anyone had experience of them?

I asked a similar question in the rental property forum and got only one response- wonder if this means most people think it isn't worth it?

It does seem a little strange that no one has a view on this companies offerings.

Make me wonder if discussions of a site sponsor is 'off limits'

One could assume from the lack of responses that hardly any landlords on this forum thinks it is necessary to their business or worth it.

Another assumption that could be made is that even if some landlords paid for legal expenses insurance maybe they haven’t had the need to test it by making a claim - which leads back to it not being worth it.

i have to say i have never seen the value in RG insurance, peace of mind is the only argument i have seen put forward?

no experience of jbi so can't comment.

homelet used to charge 3% of the rent, not sure what it is now though as that was a few years ago. £99 now from most insurers
