Well, at least I can now appear with my user name punctuated correctly!
I wonder if I can now edit a post?
Yes - I certainly can: fewer typos from now on! It's nice new system, Editor - thanks and one day I presume I will again become a senior member!

Agreed very swish
By the way you can reduce the amount of typos by going to www.iespell.com.
Simply highlight the text that you want checked and hey presto.

You always could edit a post, as long as you "previewed" it first!
And we can now make funny faces at each other!
Hi ..Can anyone tell me how i can view the old archives as im fairly new to this very helpfull site.
Thanks in advance.
Very nice indeed, and I guess this is the thread to have a little play!
I have attached a pic from my latest property to see what happens! ;)
I don't recall an attachment feature on the old forum, although you could use HTML tags to enhance the font etc.
Wow!
I bet that will take up lots of space. I do hope that you have some large servers Editor!
how do I tell which posts I heave read or not ?

The unread threads should be in bold and a blue enveloppe appears in the 1st column instead of a yellow one.

Nora - yes : I agree but I sometimes found that despite careful checking a mistrimp or two slipped through and there it was - unalterable for all to see. No longer, as I can hit the "edit" button on my posts now. :)
T.M. - I believe that the idea is that when the current threads on the original forum stop receiving contributions our respected Editor and Moderator will lock the whole thing up to "read only". Thus all the information will still be readable and accessible from the search facility as now. New posts will then only be made on this new "super" board.

....and now it would appear that the editing facility has been removed...

The editing facility has not been removed - it's just there's a time limit on it. I think it's up to 30 mins after you post that you can edit it.
If you really feel strongly about editing after that you can always contact the administration.

Thanks for the info Tom, but why impose a time limit? Few other boards that I frequent on property and other matters do - a poster can always edit his own posts. It was just that while browsing I spotted a missing space in one of my posts and ... oops where had the "edit" button gone?

Have removed the time limit on editing posts, though after 60 mins the message "edited by..." will appear. We will see how this goes.
