I recently heard (3rd hand) a suggestion that it is tax advantages to have an 11 month 3 week letting cycle for a residential (in this case student shared house) property. Effectively this creates a 1 week annual letting 'void'.
I have not heard anything like this before and it sounds rather unlikely to me but if anyone can comment or otherwise shed any light on this subject I would be interested to hear from them.
Thank You,

I haven't heard this mentioned before either.
The only possible explanation I can think of is that the owner is thinking that by using the whole house as PPR for 1 week of the year will somehow exempt the house for CGT. Any such thinking would be false.
