Hi - can anyone help - is there a way to lease land from a person for a very small cost, but to then build & own a house on that land.

A relation has offered to leave some land in their will to me and I have got planning permission on the land. They dont want to transfer the deeds yet, but wonder if we can legally lease the land from them on a longterm lease.

If they could lease the land, what are the tax implications ?

BTW this is in northern Ireland, if that makes any difference ?

Thanks

Last bit first: the legal system of NI is entirely different (except re tax and companies) from that of E&W. This is also true of Scotland.
Most LZ members are familiar only with E&W, so we probably cannot help you much- sorry.
