Can L demand extra money to help pay for utility bills?

i live in a student household (4 sharing), and have received a letter asking to pay £120 towards the utility bills, based on losses from landlords estimates.
am i obliged to pay this?

What does the Letting Agreement state? If it does not make you liable, you aren't!
