Hi, I wanted to ask if the landlord can insist on a certain provider being used for at least the gas/elec supply during a tenancy? It makes management easier for the landlord if you have a lot of properties when it comes to vacant periods, but not sure if we can make a tenant use who we want?
Feedback appreciated.
A tenant is free to chose own supplier. They can even ask to have a water meter fitted if they pay water rates direct.
PS Your signature is a rather blatantly commercial. It will be better if you can tone it down.

It makes management easier for the landlord if you have a lot of properties when it comes to vacant periods, but not sure if we can make a tenant use who we want?...and you can choose a company who make the tenant pay over the odds for the energy but who give the LL a nice kickback for doing so, right? That's why you can't refuse to let them change who they want to use.

Thanks for that Bel. So its free choose during the AST for the tenants.
Hi Lobster, I would not do that... I am looking into Utility Warehouse but would not do it if it cost them more.

UW is a good provider. I've used them for 3 years now and are cost effective.
