hi all,
a stickler for the experts plz..... can a girl form hong kong who is on a tourist visa legally sign a ast.

I can't see why not providing the fixed term doesn't extend beyond the term of her visa.

I'm a little puzzled at this. I have family who rent property abroad (Poland) for the whole year with no problems and only have a visitor visa when they go.

Surely a tenancy can be created by anyone despite their status in the country.... maybe someone will correct me on this- i'd be interested to know!!

I thought the main legal barrier to signing an AST is that the tenant must be aged eighteen or over.

You should be more concerned about them paying their rent and jetting off back to their country without notice in the middle of their agreed fixed term.

The AST would be valid even if its term was longer than the visa's.
