With a commercial lease it's a process of negotiation, usually with two solicitors and landlord and tenant involved.
To save time the main terms should be agreed between landlord and tenant first. If the lease has to be batted back and forth between the solicitors like a tennis ball, then obviously it will take time and add considerably to expense.
As a landlord you should develop a good working relationship with a solicitor with good property knowledge who will act quickly in your interests - the more work you put their way, the more priority you are going to get.
A commercial lease should easily be completed within 2 weeks unless there are special circumstances.
