i can reccomend 'how to avoid property tax' and 'the buy to let bible', you can get a copy on amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/redirect?link_code=ur2&tag=landlordfor0b-21&camp=1634&creative=6738&path=external-search%3Fsearch-type=ss%26keyword=buy%20to%20let%26index=books)

Rocket - You are better going for books rather than magazines. As Jonboy rightly says go to Amazon for a list of those dealing with renting etc. Just put "property" in the search and follow on from there. Carl Bayleys "How to avoid property tax" is No 1 for tax advice. Ajay Ahuja book mentioned below is great and he also runs a web site re hot spots etc. Your local library will be able to order any you need. For mortgages and other money saving suggestions then Martin Lewis's www.moneysavingexpert.com is one site everyone should have on favourites.

Thanks for the swift help folks.
ive read the buy to let bible and loved it as well. Avoiding propert tax is next on the agenda as im half way through 'Successful Property Letting: How to Make Money in Buy-to-let' which i think is preety good.what i want out of the magazines is like you mnentioned how to spot hot spots as i need to find areas to invest. the other info i find interesting and i think useful is the stats that they produce on employment, developents, new business moving in etc.
Is there any where better to get this type of info?
if you could pass on the URL for Ajay Ahuja website that would be great.
again really appreciate your help.
