I am currently in the process of negotiating a new let to potential tenants with a view to running it as a tattooist. Now looking at the uses class order I cannot see where it should fit in. Is it Sui Generis? In truth it looks as though it should fit into A2 (which is the current use provided) because of the description provided, but it doesnt seem right. Any advice please!

1. "Provision of any medical or health services" - if not attached to practitioner's home- falls within Class D1.
2. Contact Local Planning Authority re whether tattoing is considered within that expression.
3. There are no Permitted Development Rights into (or out of) D1. One would therefore need Planning Permission to change use from A2.
4. NOTE: rules are different outside E&W.

The majority of Local Planning Authorities would consider it to be sui, its definatley not A2. As advised, change of use consent will likley be required.
