I'm renting out a furnished property.

What kind of insurance do I need?

Is there a specific type of insurance for landlords?

I also want to include the rent insurance, I think its if they dont pay you - you get it... ?

Anyway, sorry to be so vague on this, I'm new to this (obvious, huh?) canm you make recommendations of companies/websites I should visit who can perhaps combine all the types of insurance I need.

Thanks :)

Good point that, just reminded me of my question!!

My insurance is on my unfurnished property valued at £85K. I have:

£70k buildings
£3k contents
£14k loss of rent

With:

Rent guarantee & legal expenses.

Annual premium £239.72.

My questions:

Is this any good? I
Is this adequate?
What exactly is Rent guarantee?

This is provided through Abbey Legal protection and was recommended by my letting agent.

Judging by what I have seen other people paying, that deal seems to be excellent value, especially considering the rent insurance.

£70k buildings

£14k loss of rent

incl rg+le for 12 months (for 6 months rg+le reduce quote by £46.50)

best i could find for that would be £235.50 incl ipt @ 5%

based on professional/working tenants,

students or dss famil/single person would be......£250.20

so not a bad quote you got really!
