What does it say in your mortgage policy?

What reverse mortgage company should I work for? I've been looking into these a lot lately, but I'm having a hard time deciding what company to work with. Anyone work for one - or have a reverse mortgage - that they can recommend?

Go on- what's a "reverse mortgage" when it's at home?

•An agreement under which one borrows money and will repay it by means of relinquishing his home when he dies or moves

Still, that's not very 'reverse'. Any mortgage is repayable on borrower's disposal of property or death.

A normal mortgage, the borrower repays the loan by monthly money repayments.
A reverse mortgage, the borrower repays the loan by giving up the property.
But I think its better known as an "equity release mortgage". So I guess the applied term "reverse" may be a bit of mis-labelling.

Yes- I'll agree with that.

Poster #3 is probably thinking of Home 'Reversion' which operates on similar principles to Equity Release, both of which are FSA regulated activities and individuals can't just 'wander into' working in this sector.
