online tax return payment?

hi i did my tax return online on the 15th of this month
and im due back about £500 and i used my dad as a nominee to recieve it through his bank..i recieved a email on the 15th saying that they had recieved my self assesment and they are proccessing it..but i havnt heard anything from them since via post or email.does anyone know how long this is gonna take i go away next week lol

That's only 6 days!! I was due a rebate which I expected about a month after submitting the return. Unfortunately, it got "lost in the system" until my accountant reminded them - then it turned up in my bank account about a week later. I think you might need to give them more than a week - yours isn't the only tax return on their desk.

I should just go on holiday and worry about it when you get back. :cool:
