One of our lessees is extending his lease. We have signed the deed of variation as freeholder. The managing agents for the management co. act as Co.Sec, and have signed in their capacity then forwarded the document to the sole director of the man co.
However, he is refusing to sign unless we pay his fee of £150. Can he do this? Further complication: he lives abroad and is impossible to contact for weeks at a time. This has dragged on for months and I don't know how to resolve this.
I suspect we will have to pay up the £150 and put it down to experience. But before doing so I'm just asking if anyone has had similar experience & could offer any suggestions. Thank you!
