I am looking at a set-up where 2 flats currently unoccupied (first and second floor) have an entrance on the first floor which must be accessed over a single storey flat roof extension.
The flats are in a converted building with shops below. The flat roof extension is part of a storage area for one of the shops.
The approach is through a rear garden (which is raised up compared to street ground floor level) about 5 stone steps up to the flat roof, patio paving makes a path approx 13ft to the exterior door.
This is the only entrance/exit to these flats. This has been the set up for over 30 years.
Do you think I will have a problem with this access if a fire risk assessment was done?
