tenants ring up last night saying 2 outta 3 of them been sacked for drinking at work, woohoo!
He says they will stop paying rent. They have two months left to the expiry of the 6 months AST.
He suggested they move out and lose their deposit for the priviledge. My dad who took that call told him he could stay till we found someone to replace them (the one who is still working).
I have to mention that there are another 4 tenants in my other property down the road. The guy who is responsible for paying the rent (by standing order) has disapeared! His work say he is AWOL for the last week. The standing order didn't come through and is a couple of days late (it never has been before).
So now I have problems with both properties. Cos they all bugger off to wales and yorkshire for the weekend (and their boss is on hold till monday) I have no way to even contact them...
My instincts would be to accept this guys offer to move out, and try replace them double urgent. Still not 100% what to do about the other property where the bill payer has done a runner but the others remain.
His boss is on the contract, and he appears to still be working for the co and living there during the week. Oh well I guess I will have to wait till monday to find out what's going on with his boss.
