Tennant terminated AST

I signed a 12 month AST tennancy agreement with a tennant
on 3 January 2008.

The tennant has terminated the tennancy agreement on 16th May given notice to quit on 8th June. The rental is used paid at start of the month

Please can you advise me on this

Unless there is a break clause which T can use, T cannot terminate it on 16 May. Whatever makes you/T believe that this is possible?
