I started a thread earlier today that attracted a bit of abuse from one individual. Apart from that I didn't think it was too controversial so I was surprised that it seems to have vanished into the ether!

On other forums if a thread or post gets deleted there's usually a message sent to explain why, but not in this case.

Wondered if anyone knew what the policy is and/or why the whole thread was deleted.

Thanks :)

Hang on I've found it... seems that the title of the post has been changed, that's why it 'vanished'.

Please ignore... go about your business!!

:D

Does that mean that you don't want any abuse, then, squire? Only we've ordered 30 cwt. of invective; a lorry was going to deliver it shortly...
Perhaps it was Northern Rock wot dun it.

Just leave it round the back with the obloquy.

Seriously though... it's a bit of a PITA when the titles of threads are changed for no apparent reason, and without notification. Causes a bit of confusion, don't you think?

Usually, thread stays where it is when its title is changed. I think that there's a "moved to" message when one is shifted to a different forum.

What's best is if OP thinks before entitling. If someone else was looking for info on your topic, what title would most likely idetify it clearly?
