First post after finding this site yesterday, great info and advise, hoping that you guys could give me a helping hand. My current situation is that i've been letting for a year now under full management with a sales/letting company. Due to various events i've come to the conclusion that i'm not getting the service I was promised and am looking at two other companies in the area.
The companies are Ashton Burkinshaw ans Amax. If there is any info you could give me about either companies it would be greatly received. The property is currently vacant. look forward to hearing from you! best regards, Mark

Unfortunately mark, whilst its certainly worth asking, its probably too specific a question for anyone to be able to answer. Basically the two most important things are:
- Are they a member of a professional body(ARLA or NAEA)?
- Does anyone you know use them and would they recommend them?
They are basically the two most important questions you need to find answers to.
Ha ha,
Lindsay Ostervig is one of the owners and is vice president of ARLA.
Francis Burkinshaw, another owner, runs the legal courses on behalf of ARLA.
They are a very good agent and I have had no complaints about them.
Who are you using in kent at the moment?

My comments both related to Ashton Burkinshaw, apologies if this was not clear.

looked their names up so knew they where both from ashton, thanks for that, the only downside is that they are by far the most expensive, but then if its a good service they provide.....
Now you are not going to suggest that price is more important than value are you?
My company is also based in kent. However, this is not a site for advertising and I will not state who we are, but, like ashton burkinshaw, we believe that quality is more important than low prices.
And, where did you get my name from???
