advice needed!!

hey,
i am a student and have found a house through a letting agent. i have paid them £180 without seeing them and have not given any signature. This money was given to the letting thru a friend that was due to live with us next year. due to circumstances between us i have decided along with my girlfriend not to live in that house. am i able to redeem any of the £180 i gave the agent. £90 was agency fee and £90 was deposit on damages.

any information or feedback would be appreciated
