What does the term "provide occupation" means?

I have a shorthold tenancy and one of the clauses of my contract states that I should not sup-let or provide occupanacy to third parties. Does this mean that I cannot have people sleeping over at nights (guests) without my landlord consent?

Sup-let? Is that cooking for people in the evening and then letting them kip over?

No. You can have as many guests as you like. What you can not do is accept any form of rent from them either as a lodger or a tenant.
