Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone can offer me any advice? Myself and my girlfriend are buying a new home in liverpool, it is a leasehold property. When we got the conditions of the lease through one of the conditions was that you cannot park a van that has any signage on the sides anywhere on the estate, even your own drive! (i find that weird) The problem is, is that I work for an electrical contractors, and have a transit connect van (its a 56 plate so its not a heap) with sign writing on it. The van comes with the job, i.e I work long hours so I have no choice but to take the van home after work. I got in touch with the developer via my solicitor explaining this, and they said that they have no problem with the van being up my drive, but if anyone complains it has to be removed, which doesn't really solve my problem. I feel that the lease is being discriminate to blue collar workers as it says nothing about having a car with sign writing on it being banned from the estate. have I got a case? Or do I have to swallow it? I understand that their is a good chance that their will be other people who are in my line of work i.e have a van with companies name advertised. so if for instance I were asked to move it, can I refuse until all other tenants with the vehicle types as me have been notified to remove theirs. Does anyone else think I'm being discriminated against or can anyone advise me where to take this as the developer is basically dictating to me what i can and cannot do.
Thank you all in advance for any help or advice it is appreciated !!
