I have just moved into flat letting. I have a house which is managed and has landlord building & content insurance.
Now I have 2 flats (leases). The charges I pay have an element of building insurance, which the freeholder organises. I now am wondering what is available regarding landlord cover as I do not think I need the building insurance element. I have called some companies for quotes, and they both included building insurance. I should consider cover for damage to internal decor, also damage to other flats and the issue of loss of rental. The tenancy agreements are assured shorthold terms of 6mths.

Ay advice?

Do I understand you correctly? You are a leaseholder and the freeholder organises buildings insurance? If so, then it is illogical for you to also organise buildings insurance (because it ain't your building).

You are right Poppy,

I am the leaseholder and the freeholder organises the buildings insurance. My issue is can any advise on the landlords insurance available which excludes the buildings element. As I said the 2 quotes so far keep including the bildings elements.

Any recommendations?
