The Disability Discrimination Act
1995 part III comes into force on 1 October 2004. This
part of the Act affects goods, facilities, services
and premises regarding accessibility for
disabled people.
The new rules will apply to
businesses and other providers of services to the public
where physical features may make access difficult or
even impossible for disabled people.
These changes will be an obvious
area of concern, not just for business tenants, but also
for landlords of commercial premises.
The provision of mean of access
for disabled people can be extremely expensive,
especially in older premises which were not designed
with this in mind.
