I live in Cambridge and just moved from one rented flat to another more modern one. The old flat is now being rented out at over 15% increase of what I paid! No sign of prices decreasing. I wonder who pays those prices. I am 36 working in the tech sector, but think it's overpriced. Also makes it harder to attract talent from abroad to move here.

Where do they get these figures? I run my business in the south west of England, and I have been dropping my rents over the last 12 months just to get flats let.

For example I have a large 3 bedroomed flat, which I was renting out for £650 pcm, and have just relet it, after a 12 month void for £575pcm, another is a 1 bedroomed flat which was let for £520 pcm, still unlet at £450 pcm after 3 months.

Please........!! Don't give us this clap trap and assume it covers all areas, if it's just London, say so!
